I can't stop smiling at these pictures. Rachel Hulin, a mother and photographer extraordinaire, photographed herself with her baby, where she Photoshopped herself out of each frame. She told Time, "I wanted the flights to feel genuine. These are places we are really in everyday, it’s not a cut-and-paste job on random interiors and landscapes.” Here are some of my favorites from The Flying Series:

our weekend
our weekend included an afternoon at the park,
with lunch at the hot-dog stand, Facetime with
our niece, a movie or two with Chinese takeout,
an evening run where Bella pretty much led the way,
and lots of relaxing. it was the perfect weekend to
prepare us for the busy week ahead.
Bring it on Monday, we're ready!

happy valentine's day!
hope you had a wonderful valentine's day!
we started our morning off with brunch at Cracker Barrel,
followed by a quick trip to the motorcycle dealer for husband
and then ended our little afternoon date with a matinee
showing of The Vow. we both thought it was a great movie
showing of The Vow. we both thought it was a great movie
and great story about falling in love and those moments that change
your life forever. I didn't really want the movie to end, but
maybe that's because I just really like Rachel McAdams and
Channing Tatum. Needless to say, we had a great
afternoon together, which allowed husband to spend
the evening preparing for his rotation in the ICU!
The perfect compromise, I love you husband.

Little Letters
Dear Husband, I can't wait to pick you up from the airport tomorrow!!
Dear Bella, thanks for being a great dog and adjusting to my new work schedule. I promise you will have a yard some day, where you can run and play anytime you want.
Dear Trader Joes, the flowers right inside your door, smell so good and what girl doesn't love a fresh bouquet of flowers for her kitchen table.
Dear JCREW, your spring collection is so pretty.
Dear down comforter, thanks for keeping me warm during cold nights in this apartment.
Dear iphone, you're great. thanks for letting me talk to my husband while he's in another country anytime I want.
Dear peanut m&m's, I may need to stop eating you, but how is that possible? You're just so yummy.
Dear Wednesday night TV, including Modern Family and Revenge, you might be my favorite night of television, especially when you play new episodes like you did last night.
Dear Lancaster, I'm so happy you aren't far away, I miss you sometimes.
Dear Pinterest, I think I spend way to much time with you, but I can't help it. There are just so many pretty things to make, new things to learn, inspiration, and tons of yummy recipes. (Dinner is planned for this week, thanks to you!)
Dear Husband, you get 2 little letters, thanks for making a countdown with sweet little notes to open each day. This became my favorite part about each day while you were away. And did I mention..I can't wait to see you tomorrow!

Recent Reads
Ever since nursing school ended and I got a Kindle, I can't stop reading. I'm not sure if it's because I can finally read for FUN or the fact that I've been finding some great books, or maybe it's because I just really love my kindle. Whatever it may be, I wanted to share a few of my recent favorites with you! Here they are:
The Hunger Games Trilogy: Um...I think I read the whole series in 3 days, I couldn't put the books down!
Bossypants: Tina Fey is the author, need I say more?
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: I had no idea what this book was about, but it's turning out to be a great read (I'm a little over half way through, so don't ruin the ending!)
Prayer: This book by Philip Yancey attempts to answer the question, Does prayer really make a difference?

Skype, you are wonderful
Over the past 3 weeks, with 1 more week to go (yay!), husband's been away in Honduras on a rotation for med school. As for me, I stayed home so I could start my nursing job! Needless to say, I couldn't be more thankful for the internet during this time. We've been able to skype daily, send e-mails throughout the day, and text here and there. Although I'm missing him, skype makes things just a bit better with the long distance. I'm also reminding myself that this is the LAST away rotation for medical school, couldn't be happier.
