Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor day friends! Hope you're enjoying your 3 day weekend!
It was a weekend full of of family time, friends, and outdoor fun for us.
We traveled to the farm for a day, which means lots of tractor rides for E,
fun with cousins, and pure relaxation. We had friends over for a
cookout, enjoyed brunch Sunday morning and had a blast watching the cars,
trucks and fire engines at the parade Monday morning.
I'm not quite ready for this weekend to be over, it was one for
the books or blog for that matter :)

Summer Reading List

This summer I've been reading non-stop and below is a list of some of my favorites. Most of them are easy reads that I've read while entertaining a teething baby or while feeding him at the crack of dawn. These books are charming, heartwarming, sad, maddening, brilliant, and some of them I just couldn't put down. Hope you enjoy them too and if you have any other suggestions send them my way, I'm on the search for my next book! Happy reading!

1. The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion

2. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

3. The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

4. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain

5. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

6. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

0-5 Month Baby Favorites

1. City Select Stroller - this stroller is great, we love how easily it glides along on any surface, has lots of space underneath for shopping bags and a diaper bag, and perhaps my favorite feature is the 2nd seat option. We'll be able to convert this stroller to a double in the future without needing to spend money on another stroller!

2. Sleep Sheep- this cute little thing plays white noise for either 25 or 45 minutes. We used white noise from the start and it helped baby boy learn to fall asleep on his own right away. The travel size is great too, because you can throw it in your bag and use it anywhere!

3. MamaRoo- I love all of the 4Mom products, but this one's my favorite. Baby boy loves to hang out in this thing while I clean, fold laundry, eat lunch, etc. There are different movements and speeds so I can almost always find one that will make baby boy happy.

4. Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit- This thing is pure magic, it's a thick fleece suit that gives babies a secure feeling while muffling their startle reflex. It worked perfect for us because baby boy never liked the swaddle so he would end up startling himself awake with his little arms. We tried this and suddenly he was sleeping like a champ in his crib. Like I said, pure magic.

5. Puj Tub- This tub fits perfectly in your bathroom sink and makes giving your newborn a bath so easy. It also lays flat for easy storing and fast drying.

6. Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets- I absolutely love these swaddle blankets because they are so versatile and so soft! They work great as a burp cloth, carseat cover, sun shield, play mat, swaddle, breastfeeding cover, and blanket.

7. Summer Infant Monitor- I love our video baby monitor because I can check on our baby at all times and it eased my mind in the beginning when we first transitioned baby boy over to his nursery. This particular monitor lets you zoom in, tilt the camera in different directions, and it even checks the temperature in the room, which I love!

8. Play Mat- Baby boy loved this from the time he was about 2 months old. It keeps him entertained in the mornings while I quickly get ready for the day. Each little toy rattles, which he loves, and you can attach the toys at different areas of the mat or remove them to use somewhere else, like in the carseat.

9. Sophie the Giraffe- Baby boy adores Sophie the giraffe. It's great for teething- he'll put her ear, foot, leg, you name it, in his mouth at all times and it's great for getting his attention or getting him to smile when taking a picture too.

There are so many other things I've found helpful along the way, but I'd say these are my "must haves" for the first 5 months. Hope this list was helpful!!
